Freedom Film Distributors celebrates its 2nd Birthday

Tuesday, December 13th, 2011

Freedom Film Distributors logo

Two years ago this week, Freedom Film Distributors officially launched our effort to bring independently produced films that promote the values of Faith, Family, and Freedom to communities across the nation and the world through grassroots promotion and distribution efforts. It has been a challenging journey thus far, but we are thankful for the opportunity that God has given us to help families across the country get involved in promoting great movies in their local area.

FFD families at Family Economics Conference

We have independent distributors across the country that are raising awareness about independently produced films through networking, attended local and regional events as exhibitors, and through hosting movie nights. Many of our distributor families have found great fulfillment in working together as a family in a simple and straightforward family business, one that even young children can participate in and develop important life and business skills such as planning, accounting, marketing, sales, and customer service. Most distributors have joined us because they love the films that we promote – many have had life-changing influence on them – and their passion for sharing the messages of the films motivates them in their local promotion and distribution efforts. If you love family films and want to promote them in the context of a family business, please consider joining us as a distributor.

National Movie Night - Join us and host a movie night in your community!

Our National Movie Night project started last fall by premiering several new films nationwide, including Agenda: Griding America Down, which won the $101,000 Best of Festival Grand Prize at the 2010 San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival, and Divided, a controversial film that has had a huge impact on they way that Christians consider children and youth ministry. Since then, National Movie Night has held nationwide premieres of Resisting the Green Dragon, Jimmy Valiant: Scions of Danger, An Inconvenient Tax, Dale Evans: Beyond the Happy Trails, Gather the Family, Crying Wolf, and a special pre-release screening of Rescued: The Heart of Adoption and Caring for Orphans. There are several new films being released soon that we will be adding to the 2012 schedule, so if you'd like to host a movie night to expose friends, family, and neighbors to these great films, please Sign Up to Host a Movie Night today!

The Films

Here are some of the significant films that Freedom Film Distributors has worked to promote these past two years.

A More Perfect Union DVD

A More Perfect Union is the only feature-length film that portrays the Constitutional Convention of 1787 and is an important educational tool needed to provide the understanding needed to restore the American Republic.

AGENDA

AGENDA: Grinding America Down is a groundbreaking documentary about the Marxist agenda to systematically take control of the major institutions of American power.

DIVIDED

Divided has become a very controversial film that discusses the modern ministry model for children and youth ministry, how that model has failed, and what the Bible says about the issue.

Indoctrination movie

IndoctriNation: Public Schools and the Decline of Christianity in America is a breakthrough documentary that reviews the history of government education in American – its founders and their worldview, the development of the public education institution, and the effects it has had on our culture and society.

Gather the Family is the first film that portrays families practicing Family Worship and provides an essential tool for fathers that want to lead their families spiritually.

The Homestead Blessings series is a one-of-a-kind collection of practical how-to videos on the lost arts of homemaking and homesteading.  From gardening, canning and cooking to candlemaking, sewing, and soapmaking, this series has something for every current or aspiring homemaker.

Eye-opening new documentary exposé of the wolf movement in the United States, Crying Wolf – Exposing the Wolf Reintroduction to Yellowstone National Park to get Nationwide Screening through Freedom Film Distributors and National Movie Night project

Crying Wolf documentary

Esmont, VA, 12/2/2011 — The eye-opening new documentary film Crying Wolf, produced by 20 year old filmmaker Jeffrey D. King, will be premiered nationwide December 2-4, through National Movie Night, a project of Freedom Film Distributors. 18 year old King had no idea what he was getting himself into. Having grown up in rural Montana with a love of God, His creation, and filmmaking, he wanted to have his first major project include all three. Two years of searching, questioning, and many eye-opening interviews later, what was going to be a film about wolves turned into to something much bigger: An exposé of one of the most covered up big-government and environmental frauds of his generation. Crying Wolf – Exposing the Wolf Reintroduction to Yellowstone National Park is about exposing the lies and proclaiming the truth about what the movement to bring back wolves to Yellowstone – and the rest of America – was, and is, really about, examined all through the lens of biblical stewardship and conservation. Crying Wolf is premiering nationwide through National Movie Night, which is designed to harness the energy of fans of independently produced films by giving them a way to host movie nights in their communities. Freedom Film Distributors will also promote and distribute the film nationwide through its grassroots network of independent film distributors and via its Freedom Web Store and affiliate team.

At a crucial time in the ecosystem management debate, the hour long Crying Wolf tells the side of the story that you won’t hear anywhere else. The documentary was released for a free online viewing on September 12, 2011 and has already generated over 26,500 views. The film alerts us to the dangerous agendas which lie at the root of the wolf issue that are designed to take away the life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness of the people of the United States of America and unite them under the banner of collectivist ideology. The movie is released at a critical moment as many environmental and animal rights advocacy groups are pushing fiercely to force their agendas through using any means possible all under the name of “saving” mother earth. Crying Wolf – Exposing the Wolf Reintroduction to Yellowstone National Park is particularly timely because these “Yellowstone” wolves are now spilling over from Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming and into the states of Washington, Oregon, Utah, the Dakotas, and Colorado. To make matter worse, these states are ignorantly welcoming these destructive predators and the destructive agendas behind them, with open arms. Similar wolf developments are happening in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, New Mexico, Nevada, and Arizona. Crying Wolf is a call for liberty loving Americans everywhere to wake up.

“Jeffrey D. King’s recent production, ‘Crying Wolf’ has buoyed my hope for our national future amidst the national dilemma resulting from the environmental/animal rights assault on the rights, freedom, culture, and traditions of the United States of America,” says retired United States Fish and Wildlife biologist Jim Beers. “My faith in future generations to provide for the Nation, despite the discouraging half-truths and lies that bombard them daily, is not only renewed but happily confirmed.”

Family Worship is making a comeback in the church – Gather the Family documents this trend and premieres this weekend Nationwide through Freedom Film Distributors and the National Movie Night project. New DVD shows practical implementation of Courageous Resolution.

Esmont, VA, 5/27/2011 —   Gather the Family: An Inside Look at Family Worship, a new DVD by Franklin Springs Family Media and distributed by Freedom Film Distributors, demonstrates a great first step for men inspired by the Courageous Resolution, or who seek the tools to become the spiritual leader of their home.  Join thousands of families across the United States that are exploring the blessing and peace and that come from making family worship a regular part of the family routine. Gather the Family is a look inside the walls of seven different homes to see how they go about the practice of family devotions and family worship.

Gather the Family premieres nationwide through National Movie Night this weekend, November 11-13, where local movie night hosts will gather the family of friends and neighbors to expose them to this inspiring profile in family spiritual life. National Movie Night is designed to harness the energy of fans of independently produced films by giving them a way to host movie nights in their communities. Freedom Film Distributors will also promote and distribute the film nationwide through its grassroots network of independent film distributors and via its Freedom Web Store and affiliate team.

Family Worship is as old as the church itself, and was a regular part of family life from the time of the Great Reformation until falling out of practice with the disruption of family life due to the industrial revolution and the advent of modern education. Family Worship was one of the daily activities that defined American colonial life, and was one of the chief reasons that America was the most literate nation on earth (perhaps ever) by the early 1800s. Some of the greatest English and American pastors and theologians clearly demonstrate its central role through their writings, such as in these examples:

We deeply want a revival of domestic religion. The Christian family was the bulwark of godliness in the days of the puritans, but in these evil times hundreds of families of so-called Christians have no family worship, no restraint upon growing sons, and no wholesome instruction or discipline. How can we hope to see the kingdom of our Lord advance when His own disciples do not teach His gospel to their own children? Oh, Christian men and women, be thorough in what you do and know and teach! Let your families be trained in the fear of God and be yourselves "holiness unto the Lord"; so shall you stand like a rock amid the surging waves of error and ungodliness which rage around us.   – Charles Spurgeon

Every Christian family ought to be as it were a little church, consecrated to Christ, and wholly influenced and governed by his rules. And family education and order are some of the chief means of grace. If these fail, all other means are likely to prove ineffectual. If these are duly maintained, all the means of grace will be likely to prosper and be successful.   — Jonathan Edwards

Join us this weekend – host a Gather the Family movie night by inviting another family over, or just on your own, to become inspired to spend time together studying God's Word and giving thanks to Him. Gather the Family and discover the Joy of Family Worship.

Generations Radio with Kevin Swanson

Family Worship is on the rise.  Kevin Swanson of Generations Radio discussed family worship and interviewed Donald Whitney, author of Family Worship in the Bible, in History, and in Your Home, along with Steve Morales, founder of Freedom Film Distributors, to discuss this trend and what is driving it.  Ultimately, God calls on His people to worship him in daily life, and the application of this in the home is what is referred to as Family Worship.

Nationwide Premier of Jimmy Valiant: Scions of Danger Starts Tonight

Friday, April 29th, 2011

Jimmy Valiant: Scions of Danger

Jimmy Valiant: Scions of Danger is premiering nationwide starting tonight through National Movie Night.

The exciting new action film Jimmy Valiant: Scions of Danger, produced by the Persevero Films, will be premiered nationwide April 29 – May 1st, through National Movie Night, a project of Freedom Film Distributors. The Jimmy Valiant: Scions of Danger trailer video recently won Second-Place in the Drama TV Showcase Competition at the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) Convention at the end of February.  National Movie Night is designed to harness the energy of fans of independently produced films by giving them a way to host movie nights in their communities. Freedom Film Distributors will also promote and distribute the film nationwide through its grassroots network of distributors.

Jimmy Valiant: Scions of Danger is a pilot for a proposed episodic Christian action-thriller series for network broadcast, internet streaming, and DVD. As a pilot this episode is intended to serve as a concept for a series that, if approved by studios and networks for full-budget production, would expand. The pilot’s story itself would likely be extended and incorporated into the larger story of the entire 13-episode series.

When the individualistic, cynical soldier-for-hire Jimmy Valiant (Brant Harris) is recruited to protect an idealistic Texas state senator, the two are forced to work together to unravel a conspiracy that forces Jimmy to face a dilemma between his own lust for vengeance and his family's convictions about justice. After a tragedy in the family business, an anonymous client recruits Jimmy to shadow a controversial Texas State Senator. Jimmy must overcome his myopia as he initiates an investigation that uncovers some startling truths, and brings him face-to-face with the last man in the world that he ever wanted to meet again. Jimmy soon finds himself caught up in a conspiracy that threatens to undermine everything that he has come to trust.

Resisting the Green Dragon documentary will premiere nationwide through National Movie Night

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Explosive new Environmental Documentary to get Nationwide Screening through Freedom Film Distributors and National Movie Night project

Esmont, VA, 4/12/2011 — The powerful new documentary film Resisting the Green Dragon, produced by the Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation, will be premiered nationwide on Earth Day weekend, April 22-24, through National Movie Night, a project of Freedom Film Distributors. The Resisting the Green Dragon documentary is the introduction to a larger 12 part DVD series that provides a Biblical analysis and critique of the radical environmentalist movement. The series educates and warns Christians of the dangers of this movement that seeks to lure them into unwise actions and ways of thinking about the environment. National Movie Night is designed to harness the energy of fans of independently produced films by giving them a way to host movie nights in their communities. Freedom Film Distributors will also promote and distribute the film and its accompanying 12 part DVD series nationwide through its grassroots network of distributors.

At a critical moment in the global environmental debate, many of America’s top Christian leaders have joined with the Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation to produce an explosive new 12-part DVD series and introductory documentary film called Resisting the Green Dragon. The series sounds the alarm about dangerous environmental extremism and brings a Biblical viewpoint on environmental issues and creation stewardship to evangelical churches, ministries, and schools. The new video series comes at a time when environmental advocacy groups are frustrated that their top priority for the past two decades—a global treaty to curtail fossil fuel use to fight alleged catastrophic global warming—is losing steam.

Resisting the Green Dragon is therefore particularly timely because it not only refutes the scientific case for dangerous manmade warming and other “crises,” but also exposes how environmental organizations use sophisticated media campaigns and even seek increased global governance to promote their agenda among policy makers, religious leaders, and youth. “One of the greatest threats to society and the church today is the multifaceted environmentalist movement,” says Cornwall Alliance founder and national spokesman Dr. E. Calvin Beisner. “There isn’t an aspect of life that it doesn’t seek to force into its own mold.”

Many well-known Christian leaders agree. Focus on the Family’s Tom Minnery joined Family Research Council’s Tony Perkins, the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission’s Richard Land, Concerned Women for America’s Wendy Wright, Home School Legal Defense Association’s Michael Farris, National Religious Broadcasters’ Frank Wright, WallBuilders’ David Barton, and radio talk-show host Janet Parshall in providing commentary for and recommendation of the 12-part DVD series.

Families Connecting at the Family Economics Conference

Monday, March 14th, 2011

This weekend saw hundreds of families join together in Raleigh, North Carolina to celebrate and learn about productive family economics at the 2011 Family Economics Conference.  Sponsored by Generations with Vision, the Family Economics Conference covered topics such as Vision for the Family Economy, How to Train Your Sons to be Financially Prepared for Marriage, The College Paradigm and the Family Economy, and Mentoring, Networking, and Contractualization, among others.

It was a blessing to fellowship together with others from our Freedom Film Distributor family.

The Wintons singing bluegrass gospel at Family Economics Conference

The Wintons were invited to perform their wonderful bluegrass gospel music for the large crowd, and provided wonderful uplifting entertainment during lunchtime and the evening keynote sessions.

Practical business ideas panel discussion

The Family Economics Conference addressed many issues that are foundational to the existence and vision of Freedom Film Distributors. Divided documentary is being screened nationwide March 18-20 through Freedom Film Distributors and its National Movie Night project.

Divided the Movie

The documentary film DIVIDED has been having a significant impact on viewers since being premiered nationwide in December through National Movie Night, a project of Freedom Film Distributors. Over 65 hosts volunteered to show the film in their homes, churches, and private facilities during the weekend of December 3-5.  DIVIDED the Movie, a documentary on the American church and youth ministry, is being screened again the weekend of March 18-20, and we're looking for more Movie Night Hosts to sign up to show DIVIDED to their friends, family, and neighbors.

On behalf of the producer of DIVIDED, we are also conducting a Movie Review Survey on DIVIDED to collect feedback on the film.  If you or others you know have seen it, please take a few minutes and fill out the DIVIDED Movie Review Survey.  Survey respondents will receive a 20% off coupon for our family movies and other products in the Freedom Web Store.

Take the DIVIDED Movie Review Survey today!

DIVIDED follows young Christian filmmaker Philip LeClerc on a revealing journey as he seeks answers to what has led his generation away from the church. Traveling across the country conducting research and interviewing church kids, youth ministry experts, evangelists, statisticians, social commentators, and pastors, Philip discovers the shockingly sinister roots of modern, age-segregated church programs, and equally shocking evidence that the pattern in the Bible for training future generations is at odds with modern church practices.
