Freedom Film Distributors is pleased to announce that it has partnered with JD King to promote his new documentary
Crying Wolf through the
National Movie Night project, premiering nationwide on the weekend of December 2-4, 2011.
JD King, a 20 year old filmmaker, made this film over the past two years to discover what was going on with the wolf reintroduction in Yellowstone National Park, and the reasons behind it. What he discovered is maddening.
PS – we have a bunch of other new film premieres in November, so be sure to check the schedule and sign up for those as well!

Family Worship is on the rise. Kevin Swanson of Generations Radio discussed family worship and interviewed Donald Whitney, author of Family Worship in the Bible, in History, and in Your Home, along with Steve Morales, founder of Freedom Film Distributors, to discuss this trend and what is driving it. Ultimately, God calls on His people to worship him in daily life, and the application of this in the home is what is referred to as Family Worship.

Don Whitney shared the biblical and historical basis of this practice, and Steve Morales shared about the just-released Family Worship video titled Gather the Family, produced by Ken Carpenter of Franklin Springs Family Media. Kevin Swanson declared
"It is the best video on family worship, on fatherhood, on discipleship in the home… I think it's the top number one best produced video on these things."

Don's book is one of many Family Worship Resources found along with Gather the Family on the new website www.familyworshipresources.com.

You can help encourage the practice of daily family worship by hosting a movie night for Gather the Family the weekend of October 14-16, and by purchasing one or more copies of the Gather the Family DVD to share with friends and family. Also consider asking your church to host a screening of the film for the Gather the Family National Movie Night and to consider purchasing some Family Worship Resources.

Jimmy Valiant: Scions of Danger is premiering nationwide starting tonight through National Movie Night.
The exciting new action film Jimmy Valiant: Scions of Danger, produced by the Persevero Films, will be premiered nationwide April 29 – May 1st, through National Movie Night, a project of Freedom Film Distributors. The Jimmy Valiant: Scions of Danger trailer video recently won Second-Place in the Drama TV Showcase Competition at the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) Convention at the end of February. National Movie Night is designed to harness the energy of fans of independently produced films by giving them a way to host movie nights in their communities. Freedom Film Distributors will also promote and distribute the film nationwide through its grassroots network of distributors.
Jimmy Valiant: Scions of Danger is a pilot for a proposed episodic Christian action-thriller series for network broadcast, internet streaming, and DVD. As a pilot this episode is intended to serve as a concept for a series that, if approved by studios and networks for full-budget production, would expand. The pilot’s story itself would likely be extended and incorporated into the larger story of the entire 13-episode series.
When the individualistic, cynical soldier-for-hire Jimmy Valiant (Brant Harris) is recruited to protect an idealistic Texas state senator, the two are forced to work together to unravel a conspiracy that forces Jimmy to face a dilemma between his own lust for vengeance and his family's convictions about justice. After a tragedy in the family business, an anonymous client recruits Jimmy to shadow a controversial Texas State Senator. Jimmy must overcome his myopia as he initiates an investigation that uncovers some startling truths, and brings him face-to-face with the last man in the world that he ever wanted to meet again. Jimmy soon finds himself caught up in a conspiracy that threatens to undermine everything that he has come to trust.
Get your copy of
Jimmy Valiant: Scions of Danger today! There are a very limited number left of the special edition produced for the National Movie Night premier that include special features on the making of the film.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Explosive new Environmental Documentary to get Nationwide Screening through Freedom Film Distributors and National Movie Night project
Esmont, VA, 4/12/2011 — The powerful new documentary film Resisting the Green Dragon, produced by the Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation, will be premiered nationwide on Earth Day weekend, April 22-24, through National Movie Night, a project of Freedom Film Distributors. The Resisting the Green Dragon documentary is the introduction to a larger 12 part DVD series that provides a Biblical analysis and critique of the radical environmentalist movement. The series educates and warns Christians of the dangers of this movement that seeks to lure them into unwise actions and ways of thinking about the environment. National Movie Night is designed to harness the energy of fans of independently produced films by giving them a way to host movie nights in their communities. Freedom Film Distributors will also promote and distribute the film and its accompanying 12 part DVD series nationwide through its grassroots network of distributors.
At a critical moment in the global environmental debate, many of America’s top Christian leaders have joined with the Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation to produce an explosive new 12-part DVD series and introductory documentary film called Resisting the Green Dragon. The series sounds the alarm about dangerous environmental extremism and brings a Biblical viewpoint on environmental issues and creation stewardship to evangelical churches, ministries, and schools. The new video series comes at a time when environmental advocacy groups are frustrated that their top priority for the past two decades—a global treaty to curtail fossil fuel use to fight alleged catastrophic global warming—is losing steam.
Resisting the Green Dragon is therefore particularly timely because it not only refutes the scientific case for dangerous manmade warming and other “crises,” but also exposes how environmental organizations use sophisticated media campaigns and even seek increased global governance to promote their agenda among policy makers, religious leaders, and youth. “One of the greatest threats to society and the church today is the multifaceted environmentalist movement,” says Cornwall Alliance founder and national spokesman Dr. E. Calvin Beisner. “There isn’t an aspect of life that it doesn’t seek to force into its own mold.”
Many well-known Christian leaders agree. Focus on the Family’s Tom Minnery joined Family Research Council’s Tony Perkins, the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission’s Richard Land, Concerned Women for America’s Wendy Wright, Home School Legal Defense Association’s Michael Farris, National Religious Broadcasters’ Frank Wright, WallBuilders’ David Barton, and radio talk-show host Janet Parshall in providing commentary for and recommendation of the 12-part DVD series.
The National Movie Night project is one component of the strategy of Freedom Film Distributors to build alternative and independent vehicles for the promotion of independent films that uphold the values of Faith, Family, and Freedom. National Movie Night establishes a schedule of nationally coordinated family movie nights that will focus promotion for a particular film in a defined date range. This will allow Freedom Film Distributors to leverage its national promotional campaigns through its Movie Night Hosts at the local level for the film screenings they are hosting. Movie Night Hosts are provided with planning guidance and promotional tools to set up and promote their movie night, and with DVD packs to distribute to event attendees. The goal is to provide a conduit for grassroots activism to promote independently produced family-friendly films to diverse audiences all around the country.

John Robert Moore – writer, director, and producer of the award-winning The Widow's Might – was on the WallBuilders Live radio show with Rick Green recently, and spent a good deal of time discussing National Movie Night and the unique opportunity it has to mobilize grassroots support for independently produced films that support our core values of Faith, Family, and Freedom. The show title was "Empowering Christian Film Makers to Influence Entertainment" and John discussed his experience as a filmmaker and culture changer, along with talking about how grassroots promotion of independent films, such as through the National Movie Night project, can be a powerful mode for changing culture.

John Moore's film The Widow's Might won the Best of Festival and Audience Choice awards at the 2009 San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival. His success with that film has built a stepping stone to his new project Ace Wonder, which will likely receive theatrical distribution when it debuts in early 2012.
John also described the National Movie Night project as an important avenue for many independent Christian filmmakers to not only promote their films through grassroots efforts of their fans, but also a way for them to support other filmmakers by promoting other films to their fan base. These family movie nights have the potential to spread the growing number of films that are purposely made with a Christian worldview to a much wider audience.
We are grateful to have a friend like John Moore who is not only a creative filmmaker seeking to honor God through his art, but also who actively uses his growing influence to help get the word out about supporting efforts such as Freedom Film Distributors and National Movie Night.

Divided documentary is being screened nationwide March 18-20 through Freedom Film Distributors and its National Movie Night project.
The documentary film DIVIDED has been having a significant impact on viewers since being premiered nationwide in December through National Movie Night, a project of Freedom Film Distributors. Over 65 hosts volunteered to show the film in their homes, churches, and private facilities during the weekend of December 3-5. DIVIDED the Movie, a documentary on the American church and youth ministry, is being screened again the weekend of March 18-20, and we're looking for more Movie Night Hosts to sign up to show DIVIDED to their friends, family, and neighbors.
On behalf of the producer of DIVIDED, we are also conducting a Movie Review Survey on DIVIDED to collect feedback on the film. If you or others you know have seen it, please take a few minutes and fill out the DIVIDED Movie Review Survey. Survey respondents will receive a 20% off coupon for our family movies and other products in the Freedom Web Store.
DIVIDED follows young Christian filmmaker Philip LeClerc on a revealing journey as he seeks answers to what has led his generation away from the church. Traveling across the country conducting research and interviewing church kids, youth ministry experts, evangelists, statisticians, social commentators, and pastors, Philip discovers the shockingly sinister roots of modern, age-segregated church programs, and equally shocking evidence that the pattern in the Bible for training future generations is at odds with modern church practices.

The National Movie Night project was started last year as one component of the strategy of Freedom Film Distributors to build an alternative distribution network outside of the existing Hollywood structures. National Movie Night establishes a schedule of nationally coordinated movie nights that will focus promotion for a particular film in a defined date range. This will allow Freedom Film Distributors to leverage its national promotional campaigns through its Movie Night Hosts at the local level for the film screenings they are hosting. Movie Night Hosts will be provided with planning guidance and promotional tools to set up and promote their movie night, and with DVD packs to distribute to event attendees. The goal is to provide a conduit for grassroots activism to promote independently produced family-friendly films to diverse audiences all around the country.
